The Bright Sunrise Preschool ensures every child is actively engaged in their learning experiences.
This is done by having highly qualified teachers crafting a rich environment that will allow the children to pursue their interests as teachers guide them to build on their own interests as they develop their social and academic skills.
At Bright Sunrise, it is our mission to engage and be involved in the everyday life of the children and the environment around them. This is done with the help and guidance of our qualified teachers who provide the children with opportunities to explore the world around them, supported by the best and latest developmentally appropriate practices. This includes an intentionally structured curriculum, self explorations, and STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) activities. This diversity of experiences will inspire and motivate the students to become both well-rounded children and life-long learners. The children, their families, and the staff are all stakeholders in building a high-quality program that will inspire creativity and innovation for young children.
The program is operated on a non-discriminatory basis, according equal opportunity for access to services and employment without regard race, color, religion, national origin, ancestry or sexual preference. No religious instruction of any kind is provided.
Our Philosophy
Education / Development
Our educational and developmental philosophy is a curriculum in which children have a careful balance of learning and playing experience. We believe that children learn best by being actively involved in the decisions guiding their hands-on learning experience. Through exploring in an intentionally structured curriculum, children will be self-motivated to continue and build on these experiences. As they develop important educational skills, they are also gaining confidence in themselves and their own talents. They will be on the path for bigger and better learning adventures.
Play / Learn
The children by playing are taking action to carry out their own ideas. Play not only encourages their interests, it also teaches the children important social skills. To carry out their ideas the children will communicate and interact with their peers. As they work with others and begin to see their ideas be put into action, they will be proud of themselves. The competence that they develop by problem solving and experimentation are foundation skills that will enable them to grow as students and as well-rounded children. A vital skill that children will gain from these experiences is the ability to be focused and concentrate on the tasks in front of them. In addition, the semi-structured environment will provide them the chance to use play to express their feelings and thoughts. Play is the fountain from which flows imagination and creative thinking.
Activities / Planning
The teachers will craft age-appropriate activities as part of their intentional lesson planning. The careful planning balanced with the flexibility that will allow the children to pursue their interests, nurturing their natural learning potential. The teachers will set up scaffolded opportunities, letting their children grow and develop their skills step by step, ultimately giving them tremendous preparation for continued success in kindergarten.
The Bright Sunrise program is a combination of Reggio Emilia Philosophy, High Scope Approach, immersed in with a semi-structured based curriculum. Developmentally-appropriate activities are crafted to fit with the child’s age, their own unique interests, their temperament and character, and with their natural abilities.
